Sex Positions for Different Penis Sizes

There are just as many penis sizes as there are men, but they can generally be classified as big, average, and small. There seem to be almost as many sex positions as penis sizes, but most couples only use a few of them: missionary, doggy, and maybe woman-on-top. Not all sex positions work equally well with all penis sizes, however - at least not without modification. If sexual intercourse isn't as satisfying as you wish it would be, it may be that you are using a sex position that doesn't allow your partner's penis to stimulate you as it should. For each penis size, I've described three sex positions that you can try. One of them may become your new favorite.

Big Penis Size

Missionary Position

This man-on-top position is pleasurable for a woman if the man has a big penis, but remember that the more your pelvis is tilted, the deeper the penetration, so none of that feet-over-his-shoulders, pillows under your butt stuff. Also, the further apart your legs are, the deeper he can thrust, so keep your thighs together. Not only will it prevent him from plunging in too far, it can also make for some out-of-this-world clitoral/penile friction. Woman-on-Top

The woman-on-top position is a good one to try because it lets you control the depth of penetration. Have him lie flat on his back and hover over him on your hands and knees while sliding him inside you. Move your hips in circular motions as you glide up and down, only going as deep as you can handle. Or, have him sit on a chair with no arms. Then simply straddle his lap, either facing toward him or away from him, and use your feet and thigh muscles to pump away.

The Slide

He kneels on a hard surface in a praying position, keeping his back straight. You lie in front of him with your genitals facing his direction. He then lifts your legs up to his shoulders, so your weight is supported on your shoulders. Shifting his erection downward, he penetrates you. He holds you in position by wrapping his arms around your upper thighs. The Slide is successful because it’s a position in which he can penetrate you shallowly. The technique works: He is able to focus on your supersensitive nerve endings near the entrance to the vagina with what also happens to be his most sensitive part - the head of his penis.

Average Penis Size

Missionary with a Pillow

In the missionary position add a pillow under your bum. Tilting your pelvis will make entry easier, let him thrust deeper, and make your G-spot and clitoris more accessible for stimulation.

Doggy Style

You kneel on all fours; he stands behind you and penetrates, holding your hips to move you back and forth. Your butt presses against his testicles for additional stimulation, and your orgasm feels extra intense because he’s hitting the sensitive part of your front vaginal wall. He can also easily reach around to play with your clitoris.

The Lotus

With him sitting cross-legged, straddle him and wrap your legs around his waist. In this position the two of you rock back and forth, with your breasts pressed up against his chest and your arms around his neck. It’s intimate and lets you easily make out during penetration.

Small Penis Size

Downward Doggy

Lie face down with legs stretched out and open slightly. Raise your butt a bit and have him enter, lying face down on top of you. He can prop himself up with his arms for more range of motion. This position allows for lots of penetration and friction for both of you, and you can stimulate your clitoris against the bed.

The Hook-Up

You lie on your back with him on top of you. Hook your legs up over his shoulders for deeper penetration, giving him complete control. A tip to remember for this and other positions: crossing your ankles (in this case, behind his neck) helps tighten the vaginal canal. It’s also a great way to squeeze him in and make him feel fuller inside you. His scrotum brushes against your butt with each stroke, and you can reach forward to cup his testicles while he can play with your breasts with his hands. The blood will rush to extremities like your nipples, making them highly sensitive.

Forward Bend

This position is like that move in yoga class where you bend forward to stretch out your legs except now you’ve got a man underneath you. With him lying on his back, lower yourself so that your legs are stretched in front of you. This is the less physically demanding version of the Hook Up - at least for you. He’ll be able to manipulate your motion by grabbing your hips, and you can use your hands to prop yourself up a bit. This is a good one for him because again, he can penetrate you deeply. Size does matter when it comes to sex, but any size can work if you use the right sex position. To modify other sex positions besides these, just remember the principles: moving your legs closer together tightens the vaginal canal and only allows shallower penetration. Moving your legs further apart opens the vaginal canal and allows deeper penetration. It's not rocket science, so you should be able to modify just about any of your favorite sex positions to make them more user-friendly with whatever size of penis your partner has.

Spooning: The Best Position for Comfort and Intimacy?

The spooning (side-by-side) sex positions can be great for increased intimacy for both partners. It gets its name because your bodies come together in a way that mimics the way spoons fit together in a drawer..It is possibly the most romantic sex position since it allows for couples to have intercourse while cuddling, or “spooning.” With this type of sex position, both partners hands are free to caress the other partner (partly dependent on if partners are facing each other or not) or stimulate their or their partners genital area.


These positions have no risk involved, either, as they are not physically demanding since both partners are generally lying flat on the bed or the ground. A couple may begin intercourse in this position or change to it by rolling over from man-on-top, woman on top, or even sitting position. It’s very easy after engaging in this position for awhile to then just roll her over on her stomach. She can stay flat or lift her buttocks up in the air by getting up on her knees. You can also roll her over on her back and gracefully slide into the missionary position. With “sporking,” the top partner picks up the bottom partner’s thigh with his arm. This makes penetration easier during spooning because the vaginal or anal opening is wider.

In this side-entry variation, you both lie on your sides and get into the classic “spoon” position. He enters from behind to assume the traditional side-entry sex position. The woman then brings her knees up to her chest, altering both the penetration and angle of entry and adding an erotic edge. He molds himself into you, and you both end up in an almost fetal position.

The spooning sex position can be the whole lovemaking event, or it can be the position you begin in and then move on to something else, or it can be used to slow things down and extend the lovemaking session. After some some hard, fast thrusting, the male may be about to climax, but would like to hold off. You can use spooning to slow things down and prolong intercourse. After a period of gentle, low-stimulation lovemaking, his urge to climax will pass and then you can resume some harder, faster thrusting if you want..
